Delete your account
You can delete your Beboos account and the data in it at any time. There are two ways to do it, and neither one needs you to ask permission first.
Beboos hasn't launched yet
The app isn't on the App Store or Google Play yet, so most people reading this won't have an account to delete. The request address below is a real, monitored mailbox either way.
Option 1 — Delete it in the app
The fastest route, and the only one that takes effect the moment you tap the button.
Profile → Settings → Account → Delete Account
- Open Beboos and go to the Profile tab.
- Tap Settings, then scroll down to the Account section.
- Tap Delete Account, then confirm.
Nothing is queued and nobody reviews it. The deletion runs as soon as you confirm.
Option 2 — Ask us by email
If you have uninstalled the app, can't sign in any more, or would rather not install it again, email us and we will delete the account for you. You don't need the app and you don't need to be signed in.
privacy@beboos.appSubject: Delete my account
So we can find the right account, tell us:
- The phone number you signed up with, or the Google or Facebook account you used to sign in.
- The name on the profile, if you remember it.
We check that it's really you first
Before deleting anything we confirm the request comes from the person who owns the account — otherwise anyone could delete someone else's account by sending an email. In practice that means replying from the address on the account, or confirming a code we send to its phone number.
How long it takes
We act on the request within 30 days of confirming it is yours, which is the limit the GDPR sets. In practice it is usually a few days.
What gets deleted
Both routes run exactly the same deletion. It removes:
- Your profile — name, age, gender, bio, interests, and who you were hoping to meet.
- Every photo you uploaded, any social screenshots you imported, and your verification selfie.
- Every conversation you were part of, including all of its messages.
- Your block list.
- Your sign-in identity itself — the phone number, Google account or Facebook account you used. You can't sign back in afterwards.
Deleting a conversation deletes it for the other person too
They lose the whole thread, not only your side of it, and they are not asked first. This is worth knowing before you delete rather than after.
What we keep, and why
The deletion is thorough, but it is not total. Three things survive it, and you should know what they are before you decide.
Safety reports — kept for 24 months
Reports you filed about someone else, and reports other people filed about you, are stored apart from your profile and are not deleted with it. We keep them so that deleting an account and signing up again can't erase a pattern of abuse, and so we can answer a law-enforcement or legal request. A report names the account it was filed against, which after deletion no longer points at anyone who can sign in. We rely on our legitimate interest in keeping the community safe, and we delete reports 24 months after the account goes.
A waitlist sign-up — kept until you ask
If you gave us your email address on this website before the app launched, that address sits in a separate waitlist that was never connected to your account, so deleting the account does not remove it. Ask in the same email and we will delete that too. You can also ask for just this, without ever having had an account.
Server logs — kept for up to 30 days
Our hosting provider records that a deletion ran, together with the internal account identifier it ran for. Those logs are deleted automatically after 30 days and are not used for anything else.
This can't be undone
There is no grace period, no archive, and no way for us to bring an account back once it is deleted — not for you, and not for anyone asking on your behalf. If you want to use Beboos again afterwards you start over, with a new account and an empty profile.
